Is able to collaborate well with members of other cultures, navigating issues that arise from other worldviews and spiritual beliefs with honor and respect.

The Arts Consultant will be living and/or working in a culture different from their own. For those serving in their own cultural context, these competencies might be applied in a reflexive way.

Attitude and Skills and Knowledge

No Competency:
1. •Participate in pre-field training with a sending organization
Has knowledge about:
1. Participate in the EthnoArts Community of Practice, both virtually and in-person (when offered).
2. Take Second Language and Culture Acquisition at DIU, or a similar course at another institution.
3. Take a course in Cultural Anthropology: DIU - AA4370 Cultural Anthropology or other related courses from DIU or another institution such as Payap, ANCC, etc.
4. DIU - AL4304 Introduction to Language Structure
5. The main linguistics courses offered at PYU, DIU, ANCC, Moorelands, etc.
6. Participate in a linguistics workshop or training event organized by partner organizations or local entities
7. DIU - AA4350 Language and Society or other related courses from DIU or another institution such as Payap, ANCC, etc.
Can do with Assistance:
1. Facilitate CoP, webinar or other discussions
2. Self-assessment with debrief from mentor
3. Live in a cross-cultural situation (fieldwork)
4. Take a course on mentoring from Mentoring Matters.
Can do independently:
1. DIU course Advanced Artistic Form Analysis
2. Keep a regular reading schedule; continue to extend your personal understanding of ethnoarts research and applications and concepts.
3. Submit analyses to REAP.

2. Understand how digital technology is being used by people in church and community, keeping an eye on trends and changes
