Facilitating workshops & other events

Is able to facilitate an ethnoarts event in culturally-appropriate ways with effective cross-cultural teaching methods.

This covers a variety of potential activities that EthnoArts personnel will engage in with a community. All involve communicating with artists and other community members to work together on how to best meet community needs, with an emphasis on empowering and enabling the local community to take the lead role.

Facilitation

No Competency:
1. Attend Arts for a Better future or othe introductory EthnoArts course (Payap's Basic Course, EMDC pre-training, etc.)
Has knowledge about:
1. Attend Arts for a Better future or othe introductory EthnoArts course (Payap's Basic Course, EMDC pre-training, etc.)
2. Attend Applied EthnoArts
3. Read Developing Faciliation Skills handbook
Can do with Assistance:
1. facilitate activities in a community such as workshops, presentations, teaching, discussions, recording and documenting
2. T.A. Applied EthnoArts
Can do independently:
1. Train local community members to facilitate and lead activities

Cross-cultural teaching

No Competency:
1. Attend Learning that LASTs workshop
Has knowledge about:
1. Gain experience through observing other more experienced EthnoArts personnel
Can do with Assistance:
1. Take a course in cross-cultural teaching
2. Read books on cross-cultural teaching methods (Ott, Plueddemann, Vella, and more)
Can do independently:

Outcome Harvesting

No Competency:
1. Read an article or visit a website about Outcome Harvesting
Has knowledge about:
1. Take the online Outcome Harvesting course or attend a training/webinar
Can do with Assistance:
1. Implement Outcome Harvesting in a project to evaluate results and understand impact
