EthnoArts in SIL

SIL Ethnomusicology & Arts collaborates with communities worldwide to use locally meaningful arts for connecting with God and others and holistic transformation. We believe the arts are a powerful way to communicate the gospel and transform lives. We offer consulting, resources, and training to communities for developing and using artistic expressions in ways that are faithful to Scripture and effective for communication.

SIL pursues:

• • Research and documentation of artistic expressions—especially facilitating communities participating in and leading these activities.

  • Applied methodologies to facilitate positive change in areas such as:

    • Access to Scripture

    • Health

    • Education

    • Literacy

    • Dealing with trauma

    • Language development

    • Community development
